i think my body has told me not to worry about doing a new can every 24 hours, which is a relief, it makes the idea much more chill and laid back and that's how i'm trying to roll in this new year.

so keeps your eyes peeled for new cans, foreign cans, tequila in a can...whatever it is i'm in. unless it's jenkem in a can.

a great craft beer that i was psyched to find while on a brief stop in delaware. shotgunning this made me forget the nightmare and pain of picking up the slack from new york city's sanitation department and their lack of ability to deal with large amounts of snow.
it's always exciting when you find a new 12oz can instead of a new 24oz can, although i would like to track down a few more 32oz's or bigger someday soon.

i was saving this can specifically for shotgunning in manhattan, however we were only there for a short time because we didn't want to get stuck in the snow. we made it to sunset park and then happily got stuck with friends there! everyone that passed me while i was shotgunning was very supportive and it made me miss the great city of new york. the club is a great idea and i hope to find all the varieties to shotgun someday.

the final countdown. one month to go. today's can comes all the way from iceland, and it has an interesting history that i just learned of. apparently beer was banned in iceland until march 1st, 1989 (too bad i didn't have this can or information by march 1st this year!) but polar beer was brewed under a special license, specifically for british troops that were in iceland during ww II. march 1st is now beer day in iceland and i am going to do my best to be there shotgunning one of these upcoming beer days.

i had never heard of fizzball before moving to richmond, everything i learned about fizzball...i learned from leo heinzel. originally, i believe, this game was played with soda or pop, but this time around we went with non-alcoholic beer. at the time, i was running low on cans to make it through the year and just my luck, odoul's only comes in 12 packs! what better use for 11 cans of o'douls than fizzball?

who is the best brewery ever? that would have to be stevens point brewery because they hooked me up with a wonderful variety of canned beer that they hand crafted just for me! first up was the point classic amber, the darkly lit, loud gallery didn't do the can justice, it's a nice looking can that had a superb snap when opened and it finished with a crisp, clean aftertaste. thank to stevens point for sending this and thanks to positiveland for making me feel killer about myself and my shotgun project.

this was an interesting adventure. so i was in the middle of making some food and decided i'd step outside to shotgun a beer. there was lots of police commotion going on and i figured it would make nice background noise. after setting up the camera i realized i didn't have my keys so i attempted to renegade it, but at the same time i realized it wasn't gonna happen i also saw something moving under a tarp. i instantly jumped to the conclusion that this was the person that the cops were looking for and i got freaked out and went back inside. upon my arrival inside i realized my food project was getting out of control so i put my beer aside and finished cooking, which turned into eating and then by the time i shotgunned i had completely forgotten about the weird tarp movement across the street. goes to show how on point my short term memory is.

ok...so i tried very hard to find the footage for this and it turns out that i have recorded over it, what you see is all that survived, basically just me picking up the camera after the shotgun. i have decided that this is ok because after some investigating it seems i already did a can of core orange hg on february 4th, at first i thought i had been tricked into thinking this was something new because of the design of the can, which is different, but upon further inspection i discovered that the alcohol content was also different. so, since it went from 10% to 12%, in way it was a new accomplishment.

the state fair would have been a lot more appealing to me if it didn't cost $15 to get in. after paying that much just to walk around i did make sure to get my fix of redneck watching, but didn't go on a single ride. if i'm going to spend $6 to go on a ferris wheel it damn well better be the wonder wheel. the highlights of the evening were seeing someone faint during the freak show and emt's having to rush her away and then seeing someone get thrown off the mechanical bull and the emt's having to rush her away, so i think to save myself some money i'm just gonna hang out by the hospital so i can benefit from the joys of seeing strangers in pain.

i am actually pretty excited about october because there will be some yummy seasonal beers and i will also be doing widget week soon. 7 days (maybe only 6, don't remeber if i have enough cans) of tasty beverages that all have widgets in them.

had a great time at the taste of india festival, fell in love with my new favorite dessert, jalebi, which is basically crunchy deep fried dough soaked in a sweet honey like syrup...so good! i had some both before and after shotgunning my joose, sweetness overload!

it took me forever to find this video. i ran out of tapes a month or two ago and have foolishly been recording over them. they are all saved on my computer and a hard drive and also (hopefully) immortalized on youtube, but i really wish i had just gotten a few tapes per month so i would never have to record over anything.
