the rain was looming overhead all day and the thunder was cracking so close to us we started a fire at our campsite in the shenandoah valley national park. we kept it pretty simple today and just played some backgammon and watched a rowdy camp neighbor of ours get taken away by the park rangers. a delicious bass pale ale and some shots of whiskey were the perfect way to end the night...or evening i guess because it was sooooo early. quiet time was 10pm! luckily there is no quiet time for back country camping which is gonna be awesome.
