miller high life (24oz)
uh-oh....i forgot to post this and then somehow forgot weeks later that i've shotgunned one of these. i figured it might happen sometime over 365 days but never this early on. boo!
Friday, February 26, 2010
there was a party the first night of the nahbs where i just so happen to be in the back yard shotgunning an icehouse about the same time the cops showed up in large numbers.

newcastle brown ale (12oz)
i spent some time designing a label and then it didn't get uploaded so fuck you new castle. go tell them you vote on my label.
Wednesday, February 24, 2010
this is what happens when you forget your camera, you end up cutting off your friends heads when you precariously place a macbook on the stove and don't take the time to center anything right. and even though you can't see his wildly wiggling gullet, at least you can still tell that alex kills that shit mad quick. thanks to alex and jonathan for shotgunning corona which must have a new can design or something because i don't think i'd ever seen 12oz'ers that looked like that. oh and thanks to bone thugs n harmony for keepin it real.

wittekerke rose (8.4oz)
so far the smallest can and probably the fruitiest can i've done so far. left me with an after taste of artificially sweetened raspberry soda. happy birthday to kever! and of course even though we were up till 6 or so, me and kever got no footage of shotgunning so we'll have to get to it next time i'm in ny...aka in like 2 weeks.
if you listen close at the beginning of the video you can hear a red bull being shotgunned.

milwaukee's best (12oz)
pay no attention to the fact that i said it was the 23rd...it was 9am and i was a little tired.
drunk driving is dangerous and wrong and i do not condone it, this was simply for comedic affect. i drunkenly sat on the passenger side and played dj until we got to baltimore and then i soberly took over driving.
don't drink and drive. get drunk and ride your bike instead!

jim beam and ginger ale (12oz)
this one was really down to the wire....you can hear my clock, which makes a different steam engine sound every hour, striking midnight. this stuff was easy to drink but i should have chilled it because room temperature ginger ale isn't all that refreshing.
this video also has a sneak peak of the 3 shelves currently on the wall to hold all these empties.
i'm gonna start putting all the videos on youtube and embedding them because there are too many problems with blogger videos. c'mon google it's 2010 get with it.

schlitz malt liquor (24oz)
the combination of schlitz blue bull, my friends and a complete stranger somehow made the fire flare up uncontrollably when we popped those beers open.

axis: grape (16oz)
i know there are some that will disagree but i think grape flavored alcoholic drinks are pretty gross.
Thursday, February 18, 2010
jack hammer (24oz)
i have to admit i get worried about shotgunning some of these high gravity drinks that i've never even tasted before. i always assume that they will taste like the bottom of a warm, flat st ides from the party the night before that you find somewhere in the house when you wake up, which depending on the situation can actually be a blessing in disguise. luckily this one wasn't bad, infact it was kinda sweet tasting and didn't have a chance in hell to get

chupacabras pale ale (12oz)
some people might say shotgunning a beer while sitting in your room alone is lame but whatever.
this yummy pale ale comes to us from cucapa microbrewery in mexico, they've been around for about 8 years and have made it all the way to the east coast. the can looks pretty sweet if you're into chupacabras, which i'm sure includes everyone that isn't a goat. it went down smooth and had a delightfully lingering caramel taste that made me kick my feet up.

steel reserve (12oz)
having already shotgunned the larger version of this made it seem like nothing, but i am noticing that something as fun as shotgunning beers is starting to feel like a chore to me. i hate chores, and don't wanna ruin beer for myself with this project. i just have to remember that i hate chore wheels more than chores themselves and chore wheels are not and will never be a part of my life. i'm totally rambling...so anyways yeah, beer and stuff.

ok, so i'm not the best at pairings but sometimes i'm right on. in this case, the clean crisp water pouring over my body was complimented magnificently by the bold corn-like taste of hurricane surging down my throat which was all brought together by the peppermint dr. bronners invading my senses. so, i guess technically it's not a pairing at all, more of a menage a trois really.

extra credit - double shotgun
this is a special feature, the first of many.
i swear that we have attempted and succeeded in doing this before but it didn't happen on this particular valentines day.
step 1: make a small hole on one side. the size can vary as long as you can completely cover it with your finger.
step 2: cover the hole and flip the can.
step 3: make another hole. this one can vary in size too but you might as well make it the same as the other side if you wanna share your shotgun experience with some else in a fair manner.
step 4: get those lips around those holes real quick and pull the tab!
four loko: fruit punch flavor (23.5oz)
a friend of mine once told me that four loko was a bad thing but if you drink a bottle of night train right after then there is a good chance you won't remember whether it was or not.
i hope everyone had a sweet valentines day.

porkslap pale ale (12oz)
i've read a bunch of other reviews of porkslap and a handful of them compare it to piss water and i have no idea what those people are talking about because i think it's pretty awesome. it was a beautiful copper color and the finish, which is about all there is when you shotgun a beer, had a smokey hoppy flavor. it's brought to us by butternuts beer and ale and i hope they send me the other 3 varieties of canned craft beer that they produce.
Friday, February 12, 2010
i hope you all enjoy the intro, i drunkenly busted out the camera in the dark and smoke filled basement this evening.
i really wish i had held onto one of the mickey's cans with a ufc fighter on it, then i could have poked a hole in his belly and sucked the mickey's right out of him...yeah, i totally just said that and i'm sticking with it. if you've got a couple minutes to kill, mickey's has a somewhat interactive website to mess around on.

carling black label (12oz)
thanks to lz for guestgunning! happy birthday stuart! i don't really like to support canada but this canadian beer is makde in america so it's ok. and although i've never met anyone named mabel, their commercials have been pretty interesting throughout the years.

joose: blue (23.5oz)
for shotgunning a 24oz can of joose i'd have to say this is a very boring video...but at least i didn't say cheers, i'm trying to stop saying cheers so much.

smirnoff xbt (16oz)
this is the first public shotgun and i hope many more are to come. i figured it would be so busy at dennys with their free grand slam promotion that it would be simple to get away with and i was right. the smirnoff xbt (which apparently stands for xtra bold taste, of course extra starts with 'e' so they left it off because smirnoff ebt does not have the same ring to it) was very sweet and not the best compliment to my breakfast. i am also dissapointed in the smirnoff company for not being proud of their xbt, i could not find any mention of it on their website. screw you smirnoff and your 'to hip to admit you make shitty malt beverages' attitude.

pikeland pils (12oz)
todays beer is a light bodied german pilsner brought to us by sly fox brewery it is great for shotgunning in bed but i bet come summer time it would go perfectly with a bbq. it brings out a nice hearty yet tasty burp.

i don't consider myself a football fan but we had the projector set up and ate a million tacos and shotgunned beers during the superbowl. then we took the inner tube out to a hill and used what was left of the icy snow. then we came back and shotgunned more beers and the rest i don't remember, but any night in february that i somehow mistake for a night in september is a good one in my book.

a wonderful polish beer that i think i properly pronounced the name of. the can is about an ounce bigger than a normal 16oz can and the embossed look is very stylish. unfortunately, the only beverage the zywiec brewery produces in a can is their light beer. their bottled porter is worth checking out if it is available in your area.

busch light (12oz)
this was one of those days where i should have shotgunned somewhere more exciting but i didn't want to carry my camera with me everywhere so i just grabbed a 12oz can and went for it before i hopped on my bike and rode off into the rainy night. i barely notice the difference between beer and light beer when i'm shotgunning but i know light beer is basically water so i feel real healthy when i down 12oz of water so quick.

core: orange hg (24oz)
when will they stop making all these alcoholic energy drinks? i hope never, and i dare someone to make one in a can bigger than 32oz, i'll finish it in under 30 seconds, seriously i dare all you energy drink companies out there that are totally paying attention to me to make a 40 in a can and send it to me. who knows, you could change the world.
this delightful orange flavored drink is brought to us by the people at core who also are the cause of my quest to find something bigger than their "el jefe" can. for an orange alcoholic drink at 10% i actually really enjoyed this and would compare it to orange soda. i seem to prefer shotgunning energy drinks or sharing them with friends because when i drink a can any other way i end up nursing it and they seem to get flatter and warmer than most other drinks.

old chub (12oz)
this beer is beautiful, everything about it makes me happy, the dark color, the chocolaty flavor and smokey finish, hell even the can design is spot on. oskar blues, you guys win my heart with this one.
if anyone out there has not tried this scottish style ale i implore you to do so whether you shotgun it or simply drink it the "normal" way.
Tuesday, February 2, 2010
i didn't have my camera with me and even though i should have gone home to blow out my hair before i went to the club for some fist pumpin', i opted to use the webcam on a computer at a friends house. i hadn't had heineken in awhile and it was actually very inviting and definitely a nice one to shotgun...you should try it and let me know what you think.

brew free! or die ipa (12oz)
i love ipa's and this put me in a better mood than anyone else on the bus...they we're all like "who's eatin' eggs?" and "damn lady stop spitting in that bag so much!" and i was just kickin' back being fully entertained. be sure to check out 21st amendment brewery if you are unfamiliar with their selection
